My name is Eric Jorgensen, callsign “Rabbit.”
I know my callsign may not sound as cool as Maverick or Viper. But I am a former U.S. Air Force colonel and fighter pilot, and now I’m an International Coaching Federation Professional Certified Coach (PCC), with a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree specializing in human and organizational learning.
Turns out I’ve actually got Maverick beaten in several ways.
I have been coaching and developing leaders to help them improve their performance and achieve their goals since 2018. After many years of successful leadership experience of my own, including 26 years in the U.S. Air Force and 5,000+ hours flying the F-15E Strike Eagle and other jet aircraft (plus about 46 somewhat slower hours in props), my passion now is helping other leaders develop the skills they need to take their teams to faster speeds and higher altitudes.

Let Me Be Your Wingman
Your Mission is My Mission
In the Air Force, a “flight” is a team of two or more aircraft flown in close coordination under the guidance of a flight lead. That coordination begins in mission planning, continues through tactical operations—sometimes with the jets miles apart, and sometimes with the jets just feet apart like the Thunderbirds fly—and ends only after a detailed debrief, which often lasts longer than the sortie itself.
In a flight of two, the second jet’s pilot is the wingman—there to support the lead through every phase of the mission.
If you choose to work with me, you will be the flight lead, and I will be your wingman. As your wingman, I will do everything in my power to stay in position alongside you, just as I stayed in position alongside my flight leads in the F-15E Strike Eagle. (For more on my experience with extraordinary wingmen while I was flying the F-15E, read this blog.)
My Coaching Journey
On a Mission To Support Other Leaders
Pictured below are the aerial assets of the 366th Wing Gunfighters in the 1990s, when it was the U.S. Air Force’s premier “air intervention” composite wing and I was honored to be among its members. I like to say that, by itself, the 366th at that time was “the second greatest Air Force the world has ever seen”—second only to the entire U.S. Air Force.
This picture is what airpower—and precision teamwork—look like.

My time as a Gunfighter wingman and leader—and all the time I spent in the Air Force during my 26-year career—was phenomenal experience on a phenomenal team.
My passion now is helping others to have similar experiences, without needing the jets or the G-suits. I want to “fly alongside” other leaders as they seek and find new ways to grow as human beings, to develop refined skills for making ethical and effective decisions, and to lead and collaborate more creatively in partnership with their teammates. Having been a flight lead myself in many challenging roles, inside and outside the cockpits of high-tech, high-performance aircraft, I am excited to support other leaders in their own challenging roles.
Leaders should never stop growing, and that includes me. I am therefore committed to my own continuous learning and growth. As a result, I have completed a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from The George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development. My dissertation is titled, “Exploring the Nexus between One-on-One Coaching and Coaching Culture: Examining How Employee Experiences of Coaching in the Workplace May Lead to Cultural Change.” Look for it on the internet near you, along with a novel I wrote in my spare time while I was away from home with the Air Force over the years, called “Frames of Reference.”
In addition to my EdD, I also have a Master of Science (MS) degree from the National Defense University and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. I was also privileged to participate in the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows Program.
I will always continue learning.
